Banking
Vijay Mallya's defence on Thursday brought in a banking expert at his extradition trial as a witness to analyse the documents used by the liquor baron to seek loans from Indian banks for his then-struggling Kingfisher Airlines and emphasise that he had no intention to act "fraudulently".

Finance
The Hippocratic oath for new physicians emphasises that while dealing with problems, either help or do no harm. Adhering to this principle is likely to be the best strategy for the Monetary Policy Committee when it meets next week to decide on the repo rate. The consensus is that a status quo decision on the repo rate (currently at 6 per cent) is inevitable amid rising inflation, risks of fiscal slippage and a global environment where major central banks (and few Asian central banks) are hiking rates.

Management
The stock market regulators should make an example of Infosys, prosecute the board and management and not allow the company to settle without accepting guilt, one of the two Infosys BSE -0.32 % whistleblowers told the watchdogs in an email.

Insurance
Investing in a life insurance policy is perhaps one of the smartest investments one can make, offering financial security against multiple scenarios. The process of buying insurance has become extremely simple these days, with a number of insurance companies offering their products online. This ease of purchase can often result in slight miscalculations, primarily with regard to the sum assured or the cover provided by the policy
