Eva is India's first AI-based banking chatbot and can answer millions of customer queries across multiple channels instantly, HDFC Bank said in a statement.
Eva can assimilate knowledge from thousands of sources and provide answers in simple language in less than 0.4 seconds, it said.
"Within the first few days of its launch, Eva has answered over 1 lakh queries from thousands of customers from 17 countries across the globe," it claimed.
With the launch of Eva, it said, bank's customers can get information on its products and services instantaneously and it also becomes smarter as it learns through its customer interactions.

BUSINESS
Tata Motors , India’s second highest valued automotive company, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a long-term partnership with Volkswagen Group and Skoda, to explore strategic alliance opportunity for joint development of products.
Tata Motors and Skoda Auto, representing the Volkswagen Group, will detail out the guiding principles and terms of cooperation in the next few months.
Post successful completion of definitive agreements, the two companies will start joint development work and joint value-chain activities.
Based on this joint work, Tata Motors plans to launch products in the Indian market, starting calendar year 2019. Talks for a partnership between Tata Motors and Volkswagen began before July last year under the aegis of ousted Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry.

RETAIL
Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo, which currently sees more than 65 per cent of sales from online channels, will now focus on the offline retail channel for expansion in the Indian market.
The company will soon set up exclusive stores that will enable users to get hands-on experience of all phones from both Lenovo and Motorola as well.
“We will invest in setting up exclusive experiential stores, starting with pilots with large format retail stores...these will mainly come up in places where younger population comes, the footfalls are large, for example malls and airports… the next growth will have to come from offline,” Sudhin Mathur, Executive Director, Lenovo MBG India, said.
While Mr.Mathur has been running the operations for Lenovo MBG in India since its inception in India four years ago, he was recently made the MD for Motorola Mobility India.
