It gives me immense pleasure to inform you
that The Chanakya Central Library of Asian School of Business Management (ASBM), Bhubaneswar, Odisha is going to organize
a National Workshop on Library Automation Software e-Granthalaya on 30th and
31st July 2016.
With an objective to give practical hands on
training on e-Granthalaya, this workshop is specially
designed for Library Professionals, LIS Academicians, Information Managers and
LIS students to gain knowledge on all the library administration along with library housekeeping
works for smoothly running of a library in a digital environment through this
most versatile and user friendly automation software.
It gives me immense pleasure to put before you that Asian
School of Business Management, the premier management institute in India,
has been consistently growing in strength and stature by taking up initiatives
which promotes its vision, mission, and objectives. The vision of this
institute with a sense of purpose and direction has made us a front runner
among the new generation B-Schools in India.
E-Granthalaya is a library automation software
from National Informatics Centre, Department of Electronics &
Information Technology, Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. The software
has been designed by a team of experts from software as well as Library and
Information Science discipline. Using this software the libraries can automate
in-house activities as well as user services. The software can be implemented
either in stand-alone or in client-server mode where database and WebOPAC are
installed on the server PC while the data entry program is installed on client
PCs. The software provides LAN/Web based data entry solutions for a cluster of
libraries where a centralized/Common database can be created with Union Catalog
output. The software provides Web OPAC interface to publish the library catalog
over Internet/Intranet. The software runs on Windows platform Only, UNICODE
Compliant thus, supports data entry in local language.
The participating members of this workshop can
be immensely benefited by learning and using this software
to best of their advantage.
